AIIMS Jammu and Kashmir Given March Deadline by Nadda
Union Minister J.P. Nadda reviewed construction of AIIMS in Jammu and Kashmir and set March as the deadline. He was told that Phase-I buildings, including the OPD Registration Block, OPD Block, residential buildings and designated hostels, are complete. The review covered a phase-wise plan for building and handing over the campus.

Context: AIIMS are central government medical institutes, and new ones are being built in several states to bring advanced care closer to patients. A new institute is often seen as a way to improve local care, since people otherwise travel to larger cities for treatment.
