Vultr Opens 20-MW AI Supercluster in Chennai
Cloud firm Vultr has launched a 20-megawatt AI supercluster in Chennai. The facility is expected to house about 10,000 GPUs at first, and global enterprises have already reserved a large part of its capacity. The company aims to reach 1 gigawatt of capacity by 2029.
Context
Context: GPUs are specialised chips that train and run AI models, and megawatts measure how much power a data centre can draw. India is building more AI computing at home, so companies need not rely only on servers abroad as demand grows.
