Telangana FMGs Resume Protest Over Stipend Gap
Foreign medical graduates, or FMGs, in Telangana will restart their peaceful protest from November 4. The protest is about stipend disparity, meaning the allowances they receive are unequal. The group is pressing its demand while keeping the protest calm and non-violent.
Context
Context: FMGs are doctors who trained abroad and must complete further training in Indian hospitals before they can practise. Stipends are the allowances paid during that training, so pay gaps often lead to protests.
