Opposition Seeks Reversal of NoRKA Care Premium Hike
Pinarayi Vijayan, the opposition leader in Keralam, has asked the state government to reverse a premium hike for the NoRKA Care insurance scheme. The premium for a family floater policy with ₹5 lakh cover has risen from ₹13,411 to between ₹35,664 and ₹77,773.

Context: NoRKA is the Non-Resident Keralites' Affairs department, which runs welfare schemes for Keralites working abroad and their families. Kerala relies heavily on money sent home by its large Gulf diaspora, so changes to these schemes affect many families.
