Telangana Adds 359 PG Medical Seats in Government Colleges
Telangana has added 359 postgraduate medical seats in its government colleges for 2026-27. Total intake now stands at 1,625. Twenty-three of the state's 35 government medical colleges will offer PG courses, up from 10 earlier. Medical graduates who want to become specialists get more places to study.

Context: After an MBBS degree, doctors take postgraduate courses such as MD or MS to become specialists, and seats are limited, so many candidates compete for them. Adding seats is one way states try to meet a shortage of specialist doctors.
