Paddy Storage Facilities Open in Cuddalore
A minister inaugurated modern paddy storage facilities in Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu. The facilities were built with financial assistance from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, NABARD. Together they can store 7,000 tonnes of paddy, which is unhusked rice.
Context
Context: Farmers often sell paddy soon after harvest, when prices can be low, so proper storage helps them keep grain safe until they sell. NABARD is the government-backed bank that funds rural and farm projects across India.
