CITU Plans Indefinite Jantar Mantar Protest From December 1
The Centre of Indian Trade Unions plans an indefinite protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi from December 1, and organisers expect over one lakh workers. The unions want workers' rights protected and the labour codes withdrawn, which they describe as anti-worker.
Context
Context: Parliament passed four labour codes in 2019 and 2020, merging many older labour laws into them, and trade unions have opposed them since. Jantar Mantar is the Delhi site where groups often hold large protests.
