Rs 37 Crore to Restore Old Gangakatwa Canal in Sangareddy
Telangana minister Jagga Reddy said the Gangakatwa canal in Sangareddy will be restored at a cost of Rs 37 crore. The canal was built to water about 3,300 acres of farmland across 11 villages.
ContextContext: The canal dates back to the rule of the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad, so it is a very old irrigation system. Restoring such canals is part of a wider state effort to bring farm water to villages that depend on them.
