UPI is world's largest payment system, says FM
Finance Minister Sitharaman says UPI is the world's largest payment system. Monthly transactions have topped Rs 24,000 crore, according to NDTV Profit.
ContextUPI, run by the National Payments Corporation of India, lets people send money instantly from their phones using apps like PhonePe, Google Pay and Paytm. It launched in 2016 and has become a central part of India's push toward digital payments.
