Low vitamin B6 linked to stroke in young adults, study finds
A Bengaluru study compared 171 young adults with ischaemic strokes against 249 healthy people. It found lower vitamin B6 levels in the stroke group. The results point to a possible link, though one study alone cannot prove that low B6 causes strokes.
ContextContext: An ischaemic stroke happens when blood flow to part of the brain is blocked, and it is linked to lifestyle factors such as diet and inactivity. Vitamin B6 is a nutrient found in foods like chickpeas, fish and bananas.
