About Useful AI
Useful AI is a news site for readers in India. It turns the day's AI stories and headlines into 60-second cards you can read in English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali or Marathi.
What you'll find here
- AI News: what's new in artificial intelligence, from AI labs, tech publications and Indian startup news. Each card ends with a short glossary that explains the company in the story and any hard words.
- Daily News: the day's top stories from India and the world. Each card ends with Context: what led to the news and the bigger story around it.
- My AI Tips: practical ways to use AI tools, for students, developers, founders and people at work.
How the cards are written
Every 15 minutes, we check the news feeds of dozens of publishers, including The Hindu, BBC News, The Economic Times, Business Standard, TechCrunch and MIT Technology Review. When there's a new story worth your time, Anthropic's AI model Claude writes a card from the publisher's headline and short description, in its own words. We never copy full articles.
Every card names its source and links to the original article, so you can read the full story there. The Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and Marathi versions are translated by AI too.
Mistakes and corrections
AI can get things wrong, so check the original article before relying on a card for anything important. We can correct, pin or remove any card on the site. If you spot a mistake, email hello@usefulai.tech and we'll fix it.
How stories are picked
Stories are picked and ranked automatically, by how new they are and how much they matter. The publishers we summarise aren't connected to Useful AI.
