Census 2027 Schedule: Self-Count From January 10
The Home Ministry has announced the timetable for the second phase of Census 2027. Self-enumeration starts on January 10, and the door-to-door population count runs from January 25 to February 28, 2027. A revisional round follows from March 1 to 5.
Context
Context: A census counts every person in India and is used to plan services, seats in legislatures and welfare schemes. The 2021 census was postponed, so this is the first full count in over a decade.
