Vallarpadam Evictees Get Sand for Rehab Sites
Families evicted for Keralam's Vallarpadam project have received some relief. The Cochin Port Authority has released dredged sand to strengthen three rehabilitation sites. It has also written to the PWD executive engineer asking for details of the contractor and the work order.
Context
Context: Vallarpadam is a container terminal project near Kochi, built on land acquired from families who had to move. Rehabilitation sites are the new homes and settlements offered to people displaced by such projects.
