Railways to Switch 22 Delhi-NCR Sites to Piped Gas
Indraprastha Gas will initially supply about 3,000 standard cubic metres of natural gas daily to railway sites in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar under a deal with Northern Railway. The change is expected to replace around 500 kg of LPG and 2,500 litres of diesel used each day across 22 sites.

Context: Indraprastha Gas is the city gas distributor for much of Delhi, and Northern Railway is one of the zones of Indian Railways. Piped natural gas, which flows through pipelines, is increasingly used in place of LPG cylinders and diesel as cities push for cleaner fuel.
