Direct Mutual Fund Plans to Become Default from November 1

SEBI chief Tuhin Kanta Pandey said that from November 1, direct plans will be the default option on digital platforms. He added that easy market access does not guarantee that investors understand what they are buying. The change applies to digital platforms, so investors who sign up there will see direct plans first.

ContextContext: SEBI is India's market regulator. Direct plans skip the distributor commission that regular mutual fund plans pay, which usually means a lower cost for the investor.
