Patna Museum Ranks 9th Globally, Ahead of the Met
A museum in Patna, Bihar, has been ranked 9th in the world, ahead of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art (10th) and Paris's Louvre (31st). Industrialist Anand Mahindra called it a 'game changer', drawing wider attention to the museum.
Context
The Louvre in Paris and the Met in New York are among the world's most famous museums, so a Patna museum outranking them is unusual. Museum rankings often reflect visitors, collections and reviews, which draws attention to Indian heritage sites.
