Tamil Nadu to Add 26 POCSO and 4 NDPS Courts
The state government plans to set up 26 new special courts under the POCSO Act, which covers sexual offences against children, and four courts under the NDPS Act, which covers narcotics cases. After the addition, Tamil Nadu will have 52 special courts across its 47 police districts.

Context: POCSO stands for the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, and NDPS stands for the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Special courts are set up so that cases under these laws can be heard faster than in regular courts.
