Counting Set for AP Local Body Votes on November 7
Vote counting for ZPTC and MPTC elections in Andhra Pradesh will take place at 365 centres on November 7. About 11,000 counting supervisors and 28,692 assistants and staff will take part. The process begins with postal ballots. Nearly 20,000 police personnel are deployed under a three-layer security system.
Context
ZPTC and MPTC stand for zilla parishad and mandal parishad territorial constituencies, the rural local bodies that sit below the state level. Postal ballots are counted first because they come in before polling day and are checked separately.
