Draft Rules Propose Mandatory Sustainable Aviation Fuel Blending
The civil aviation ministry has circulated a draft National Policy on Sustainable Aviation Fuels. It proposes mandatory blending of sustainable aviation fuel with aviation turbine fuel, or ATF, from 2027, and only fuel made indigenously in India would be allowed.

Context: Airlines are under pressure to cut carbon emissions, and sustainable aviation fuel is a cleaner alternative to conventional jet fuel that many countries are now encouraging or requiring.
