Telangana Cancer Registry Logs 35,000 Cases
Telangana's cancer registry has recorded 35,000 cases, a government adviser told the state's health minister, C. Damodar Raja Narasimha. The minister said cancer treatment services have now been extended to all 33 districts of the state. The update was reported on 3 November.
Context
Cancer registries record how many people in a region have been diagnosed, which helps governments plan hospitals, screening and treatment. Telangana is a southern state in India, and expanding care to every district matters most for people far from big city hospitals.
