Sharp Objects Found in Halloween Sweets Across Europe
Sharp objects such as pins have been found in Halloween sweets in Austria, Germany and Hungary. Dozens of cases have been reported across the three countries. One nine-year-old girl hurt her tongue while eating chocolate that contained a pin.
Context
Halloween sweets are often bought in bulk and shared with children, so food safety checks matter. Austria, Germany and Hungary are all European Union members, which share common food safety rules.
