100 New Seismic Observatories Planned Across India
The Ministry of Earth Sciences plans to set up 100 more seismological observatories across the country. Four each will go to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The aim is to detect earthquakes as small as magnitude 2.5. This would let scientists record much smaller tremors than before.
Context
