Centre Urges States to Boost Fodder and Livestock Support
The Centre has issued an advisory to states and union territories to improve fodder security and livestock infrastructure. It promotes convergence under the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, and identifies 22 permissible works that support these goals. The advisory asks states to use this law to fund work for livestock and fodder.
Context
Fodder is the feed for cattle and buffaloes, and India's dairy sector depends heavily on it, so shortages can affect milk supply. The VB-G RAM G Act replaces the earlier MGNREGA rural jobs law.
