Tamil Nadu Rainfall Turns Surplus in October
Between October 1 and 27, Tamil Nadu recorded 217.2 mm of rain against a normal of 144.2 mm, a 51% surplus. As a result, 18 districts that had a rainfall deficit moved into normal or excess categories.
ContextContext: Tamil Nadu gets most of its rain from the northeast monsoon in October to December, so early-season deficits had raised worries about water supply and farming.
